PTA Image Consent Form

Throughout the school year, professional photographers and PTA designated parent volunteers will be taking posed individual, organization, and classroom group photos, as well as candid photos of other school and PTA-sponsored events such as class field trips, school parties, 5th grade camp, dances and socials, assemblies, science night, field day, etc. Some of these pictures will be published in the yearbook, newsletters, scrapbook, and memory book/disk.

If you do not want your child’s picture to appear in these publications, we must know now so that we may take steps to prevent your child’s picture and identifying information from being printed. If you respond “No” below your child will not be in any posed school picture opportunities, and any candid photos taken of your child throughout the school year will not intentionally be used in these publications. Every reasonable effort will be made to omit your child’s image and identifying information from the items/publications marked “No.” If you select “No”, please discuss with your child that they may be asked to step out of some photos.

Back-to-School Outreach: School Supplies

Hundreds of disadvantaged children in Plano will start school this year without even the most basic items. To help these children, we are collecting school supplies during Packet Pick-up and the first few weeks of school.

  • What’s needed most: Pocket folders with brads, spiral notebooks, 3-ring binders
  • Where the donations will go: To the School Supply Project, a community-based initiative that distributes school supplies to PISD students in need
  • What to do with your donation: Drop it in the Community Outreach collection box at Packet Pick-up or in the collection box just past the school office

Won’t you help?

For more information, please contact Shannon Couzens, Outreach Chairman, by email.

Buy School Supplies from Your PTA!

Every year, the PTA offers parents the opportunity to purchase all the school supplies their child needs in a convenient, one-stop purchase.

  • No need to go to 5 different stores
  • Sort through lists of what your child needs
  • Carry the supplies to school

At PACKET PICK-UP, on August 20, 2007, you can purchase the supplies from the PTA.

We contract for the purchase of all the supplies for the whole school, so we are able to offer the supplies at a very competitive price. The supplies are pre-packaged by grade level, and they are EXACTLY what were requested by the teachers. We will even deliver them to your child’s classroom so they will be on their desk the first day of school!

TAX FREE

Additionally, the PTA has designated Packet Pick-up as a tax-free day, so if you purchase the supplies on August 20 (only), you will save the 8.25% state sales tax.

This year’s pre-pack cost is as follows:

  • Kindergarten $29.00
  • First Grade $53.00
  • Second Grade $46.00
  • Third Grade $50.00
  • Fourth Grade $53.00
  • Fifth Grade $48.00

If you enjoy shopping the “Back to School” deals offered by various vendors, you can find the official BARKSDALE list of school supplies needed by each grade level online at www.barksdalepta.org. Please be aware this list differs, sometimes significantly, from the official PISD list displayed at the retail stores. Be sure to take the BARKSDALE list with you when you go shopping to avoid having to go back to the stores a second time to return items or purchase additional supplies.

If you have any questions, please contact Jenny Wood.
