Monday, March 3:
- Book Club for Grades K-2 in the library from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.: Please send a snack for your child and a note for his teacher.
Tuesday, March 4:
- PTA Spanish Program in the library from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m.: Please send a snack for your child and a note for his teacher.
Wednesday, March 5:
- TAKS Reading test for 3rd & 5th Graders
- TAKS Writing test for 4th Graders
- Helpful hints:
- Getting a good night’s rest is very important.
- Eating a good breakfast will get your child off to the right start.
- Sending a healthy snack and a bottle of water is a great idea – it helps your child be more comfortable through this long day.
- Bringing a favorite book to read if they complete their testing early.
- Please do not plan to have lunch with your child at school on TAKS testing days.
Thursday, March 6:
PTA Brown Bag Lunch with Nurse Pennye: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the library. “My Growing Body” for 4th Grade girls and 5th Grade girls and boys. Each April, Nurse Pennye talks to the 4th grade girls and the 5th grade girls and boys (with Coach Ledsome) about their growing bodies. She shows them a film about the topic and answers their questions.
Parents of all Barksdale students are invited to come watch the film and get a preview of Nurse Pennye’s presentation. If you have any questions or concerns, Pennye will be glad to address them at this meeting.
Friday, March 7:
- Spirit Day
~ An enews was sent out on Friday, February 29, 2008, regarding a change in the lunch menu for March 6 and 13. This notice was only to inform students of the menu change and was not an invitation for all parents to attend. Unfortunately, we will not have enough food to accommodate all visitors. Please accept our apology for the misunderstanding.
