Monday, January 14:

  • 3rd - 5th Grade Book Club: 2:45 - 3:45 p.m. in the library. Please send a snack for your child and a note for his teacher.

Tuesday, January 15:

  • PTA Board Meeting: 9:30 a.m. at Kroger
  • Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A: Please remember to write your child’s name and teacher on the back of your receipt and place it in the box.

Wednesday, January 16:

  • International Day Parade participation forms due. PLEASE NOTE: The newsletter incorrectly stated they were due January 8th. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Goodman, International Day Chairman, by email.
  • Science Fair Judging
  • Science and Technology Night: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. We will have a special presentation by Professor Brainius and his friends. Come and view all the fabulous science fair projects put out by Barksdale students.

Thursday, January 17:

  • Spirit Assembly: 8:15 a.m.

~ January Outreach is the Samaritan Inn of Plano. As the only homeless shelter in Plano, they often find themselves in need of everyday items such as cleaning products and paper goods. Examples of their needs are: cleaning products such as bleach, laundry detergent, dish soap, windex, all-purpose cleaner, disinfectant spray and/or wipes, bathroom cleaner, etc. The Inn could also use toilet paper, paper towels, tissue, paper plates, dixie cups and trash bags. Please place your donation in the collection box outside the Barksdale office.

If so, join Donna Bateman of Parents with Purpose at the Parr Library, Thursday, January 24, 2008, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In just a few minutes, you could learn about two simple changes that will help you improve your child’s:

Donna Bateman is a Neurodevelopmental Specialist and the mother of eight. She has helped hundreds of parents help their children make dramatic improvements in all 7 areas of brain function. She took her own son from a prognosis of “blind, mentally retarded, global developmental delay” to two years above his grade level in math and reading and walking/running many miles.
