SPRING PICNIC THIS FRIDAY!

It’s a picnic and the fun is free!

Come celebrate another great year with your Barksdale friends and families.

The Spring Picnic is this Friday from 5:30 – 7:30 on the playground at Barksdale.

Don’t forget your picnic baskets, blankets, chairs, and tables!

If you don’t want or have the time to pack a basket, complete the pre-payment food form from your YO packet and send it in tomorrow.

We will only be able to provide food and drinks for those that have pre-purchased their food.

Monday, April 7:

• Spring Picnic food order forms due. Please fill out and return to your child’s teacher.
• Kindergarten Field Trip to the Outdoor Learning Center
• KN - 2nd Book Club in the library, 2:45-3:45. Please send a snack for your child and a note for his teacher.

Tuesday, April 8:

• 5th Grade TAKS Math test
• Spanish Program in the library, 2:45 – 4:00. Please send a snack for your child and a note for his teacher.
• Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A.

Wednesday, April 9:

• Weaver in the 4th Grade

Thursday, April 10:

• PTA Brown Bag Lunch in the library, 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Mrs. Salmon and Mrs. Ledsome will discuss preparing your children for 1st and 2nd grades.

Friday, April 11:

• Spirit Day
• PTA Spring Picnic, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 12:

• Marathon Kids Final Mile Celebration at Loos Stadium, Addison, 10:00am.

~ We need Field Day Volunteers on Friday, May 16th!

This is a great day for moms and dads to spend the day with the kids at Barksdale. If you are interested in helping out, the shifts are listed below. Please contact Kelly Boyd, Field Day Chairman by email or by calling (972) 473-2379.

• Kindergarten Volunteers: 7:15 - 11:15 a.m. (includes set up, games, and clean up)
• 1st-5th Grade Volunteers:
  • All day 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (includes set up, games, lunch provided, and clean up)
  • AM only 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. (includes set up, games, lunch on their own)
  • PM only 11:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (games, clean up)
