IT’S BOOK FAIR WEEK!

Join us in the library this week to browse through the huge selection of children’s books, adult bestsellers, cookbooks and resource books. This year’s theme is “Take a Reading Road Trip” and what better time to select books that your children can read during those long summer road trips as well as enriching their summer reading at home.

We are committed to connecting kids with books they want to read!

We still have a great need for volunteers to help staff the Book Fair. You don’t need any experience – just one to two hours of your time. If you are cleared to volunteer, please email Susan Valesano, Book Fair Chairman, or call (972) 473-8095, to lend a hand.

Monday, April 21:

• Book Fair – 8:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Tuesday, April 22:

• Book Fair – 7:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Wednesday, April 23:

• Book Fair – 7:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Thursday, April 24:

• Book Fair – 7:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
• 4th Grade Bronco Press Deadline

Friday, April 25:

• Spirit Day
• Book Fair – 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• Grandparents Day – 12:15 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Check-in begins at 11:45 a.m.
  • The shuttle will run from 11:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • This is a come and go event so visitors do not need to check-in at exactly 11:45 a.m. All visitors must have a valid photo ID to enter the school building.
  • Please contact Denise Stavely, Grandparents Day Chairman, by email with any questions.
• Field Day t-shirt order forms are due. Orders will not be accepted beyond today. Can’t find your form? Look here for extra forms.

~ Field Day is Friday, May 16th and we STILL need LOTS of Volunteers!

This is a great day for moms and dads to spend the day with the kids at Barksdale. If you are interested in helping out, the shifts are listed below. Please contact Kelly Boyd, Field Day Chairman by email or by calling (972) 473-2379.

• Kindergarten Volunteers: 7:15 - 11:15 a.m. (includes set up, games, and clean up)
• 1st-5th Grade Volunteers:
  • All day 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (includes set up, games, lunch provided, and clean up)
  • AM only 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. (includes set up, games, lunch on their own)
  • PM only 11:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (games, clean up)
