Monday, October 15:

  • Sally Foster Sale Ends: Please return your order forms to the school today.

Tuesday, October 16:

  • PTA Board Meeting: 9:30 a.m. at Kroger
  • Spanish Program 2:45 - 4:00 p.m.: Please send a note for your child’s teacher and a snack for your child.

Wednesday, October 17:

  • Cake and Cookie Walk Corral Entry forms are due: Please return your entry form for cake and/or cookie donations for the Barksdale PTA Barbeque/Country Fair to your teacher today. If you have any questions please contact Alice Brumback, Country Fair Chairman by email or by calling (972) 624-5509.

Friday, October 19:

  • Spirit Day!
  • Kindergarten Field Trip to the Arboretum: Please be sure you have returned your child’s permission slip and send them off prepared for a fun day. They will need a sack lunch, drink, walking shoes, a Barksdale or red t-shirt, and a jacket depending on the weather.
  • First Grade Field Trip to the Dallas Zoo: Same as for the Kindergarteners. Please see the forms sent home by your child’s teacher to be sure they are ready for their adventure into the wild.
  • Contributions for Class Wreaths and Baskets are due: This is the last day to turn in items for your homeroom parents to use for the themed wreaths and baskets to be auctioned at the Barksdale PTA Barbeque/Country Fair. Please send the items you wish to donate with your child to school in a bag marked Wreath or Basket. If you have any questions, contact your homeroom parent or Alice Brumback, Country Fair Chairman by email or by calling (972) 624-5509.
  • Deadline to submit entries for the PTA Reflections contest.

~ Red Ribbon Rally will be Tuesday, October 23. The coffee will be ready at 7:00 and the Rally starts at 7:15 (yes, that’s a.m.) in the Macy’s parking lot at the Shops at Willow Bend. It’s a lot of fun for the kids and a great message so be planning your posters and craziest hair. This year’s theme is “Dream Big… No Drugs”.
